We are meeting at 8:30am Friday 29 November 2024 to water, weed, placing tree guards, and some 2025 planning. The Outdoor Classroom is located along the river near the Glebe Park playground off Thorpe Avenue Queanbeyan. Bring your own PPE and water, some tools provided. We hope to see you there.

Join the Friends of Mount Jerrabomberra and Stringybark Reserve for a morning of tackling woody weeds. Meet at the locked gate near 15 Nicholli Loop, Jerrabomberra. Morning tea and tools provided, but please bring your own PPE and water.

BIODIVERSITY WALK
Come along for a walk around Bicentennial Park and learn out about our diverse native plants and animals, and the fantastic work done by local volunteers to conserve our local environment. Local experts will teach you about our fantastic biodiversity, and what you can do to help conserve it.

GANG-GANG COCKATOO AND INDIAN MYNA INFO EVENING
Queanbeyan Landcare is again hosting an information evening to update members and interested locals on the latest research and survey work to protect our native birds and other wildlife.
NATIONAL WATTLE DAY WALK
Join QPRC and Queanbeyan Landcare on a walk up Mount Jerrabomberra to celebrate World Wattle Day! Learn about our local wattle species, and the other native plants and animals in our local environment.
The walk will stay on a well-maintained gravel road of an easy grade uphill, and will be at a slow-moderate pace with regular stops. Please wear enclosed shoes and sun protection, and bring adequate water.
The meeting point for this walk is the Mount Jerrabomberra Carpark, Jerrabomberra Hill Road (off Halloran Drive).

NATIONAL TREE DAY 2024
Barracks Creek Reserve will again be the site of a National Tree Day event planned by QPRC and Queanbeyan Landcare. Like last year, we will be planting along the eastern edge of Barracks Creek, in the area north of Barracks Creek Drive, across from the Barracks Flat Neighbourhood Park.

QPRC are having a networking expo at Bicentennial Hall for World Environment Day. Local environmental groups, organisations and companies are invited to host a stall and network with other local groups. Members of the public are invited to attend and connect with local organisations.

Join Queanbeyan Landcare and QPRC for an educational walk around the Queanbeyan River. Learn about native plants and animals, local urban ecosystems, and the fantastic work done by Queanbeyan Landcare. If you’re lucky, we might see a platypus!
Please wear enclosed shoes and sun protection. A morning tea will be provided at the end of the walk.
